Give Us Your 2 Cents

What's Next for Surf Guru??

OK all you kiddies out there in Webland. Now is the time to speak up and give us your 2 Cents worth, because we need your help!!!

Surf Guru is getting ready for the tropics to start heating up with lots of new features and updates to the site planned over the next couple months. We want to know what you like, don't like, and want to see on SurfGuru.com.

Have you noticed the site can run pretty darn slow in the morning??? We sure have, and we are in the final planning stages of upgrading our servers. So, we already know that, but you can still yell at us about that.

We also have more cams on the way and a better setup to cut down on the slow load times.

So Surf Guru-ites what will it be?? We need your 2 Cents.

Oh by the way, if you post a really good comment here we'll send you a FREE BILLLABONG, RUSTY, or LOST T-SHIRT !!!

To make a comment, simply login/sign-up using the link in the top right corner of the site.

Hey Buddha, do I get a FREE TEE if I make a post. Please?

I know what I want, a fast loading site and fast loading cams? Think we can do it?

How about forming an alliance of East Coast oriented surfing web sites.  It would be a great way to expand advertising possibilities and revenues- I'm thinking specifically of the first rate free wave forecasting/tracking site www.swellinfo.com.  They're not using cameras, but you are, you're not forecasting swells, but they are.  The producer's name is Micah and he runs a first rate site.

Your site is pretty good but I think that the pages are a little to

"overloaded". The home page has so much going on it's easy to miss stuff. Also by having so much on the page it causes the font to be very small and the contrast of the black on blue on the drop downs makes it hard to read. Some of us are old school when it was the ONLY SCHOOL!! Our eyes aren't what they used to be!!. You could make the home page either two pages or put the title of the information and make it a link to the rest of the information on that subject to still have it on the home page, but you have it linked to its own page. An example is the way you are advertising for the available web cam sponsorship. It's easy to read and you just have to click on the link to get the full information.

Now about your shirts!! I'd like to see the logos larger ( I do graphic design and mainly T-Shirts etc.) and on the back with possibly your name and logo smaller over the left ***.

Other then that your site is great!! Good Luck...Mindy

Surf guru is great. however, i notice that sometimes it runs real slow, and cuts off, too soon. And how about putting more carmeras around the other surf spots. I get tired of seeing Ocean Ave., Spesser Holland would be a great place for cams, by the Tiki. Boardwalk is boring, so I would get rid of that. But I suppose the tourists like it.

Other than that, you guys do a great job. I find the links easy to navigate .

Whatever you decide to do ,DO NOT get rid of my main man.Thee Surf Guru. He's my wake up call.. And I 'm sure you all will update the guru just fine.

Thanks guys!

Great to have such detail: wind direction; speed;  gusts. Now how about providing accuracy? One day you forecast "zero wind speed from the North" - only one racing dinghy DIDN'T capsize. It is not usually that bad but is never accurate!

Ok folk's do not forget the Rip Curl Right Coast Tour at Ron Jons.Meet Tom Curren and Poncho Sullivan. You can go to Ripcurl.com for more details. As for my self and  others I owe  some of my  love of surfing to Tom Curren.

Watching him growing up in the late 70's and  80's pushed me to surf has pure and as hard..

My 2 cents,

I would like to say a special thanks to Ron Jon's and the Rip Curl Right coast Tour. Two people especialy would be Christin for his help and Tom Curren. My son had never heard of him but As being one of my idols growing up he wanted to meet him too. After we got up there Tom was very interested in talking with jeff my son about surfing and what he thinks of the sport. Now instead of Kelly Slater is the best it's now dad Tom Currren is the best. So Thanks again Ron Jon's and Rip Curl..
