Cape Canaveral (09/01 Fish Tales Tours) Recent rains have cooled water temps into the mid 80's and speckled trout are feeding more aggressively once again. Grass flats 2-3ft in depth marked by sandy potholes is were you'll find them. In the early morning, calm days, top water baits like the super spook jr. are very effective. Cape Canaveral (08/14 Fish Tales Tours) Mangrove snapper are biting on both the north and south side of the lock. Near the rocks on either side is optimum and bait of choice is live shrimp on a #1 hook with a small split shot. Peeled shrimp will also work though you have to get it by the pins and puffers. The last few days were pretty darn good for everything. The big kings have been on the beach in 35 feet of water. We had a few days in a row of 20-30 fish! in the 20-30lb class!! AWESOME. We also have been hitting the local wrecks and chumming up all sorts of stuff from Cobia, Amberjack, Magroves, Cudas, Bonitas, even small Mahi. Get out there use more

Damn that was a cold winter!! It was so cold I could barely move my fingers to type up any decent fishing reports!
But the ice has finally melted across Florida and it’s time to do some fishing, boys and girls. And since we’re on the topic of boys and girls, how ‘bout I talk about some ways you boys and girls, men and women, muchachos and muchachas can all fish together?!

If I could describe this winter in a single word it would have to be “shrinkage.” Our supply of fish in East central Florida sure has shrunk down and populations are suffering due to the cold.

Surfing, fishing. Surfing, fishing. That’s how it’s been going for Central Florida’s people of the sea lately. One weekend we’ve got beautiful glassy the surf, the next week its flat and great conditions for flats fishing or going offshore. Hey, I’m not complaining though--nothing wrong with a little instability every once in awhile.

The 7th Annual BOB fishing contest went off without a hitch!!!
Over 70 fish caught! Awesome weather! And 20+ women fishing and having a great time together!

Don't forget the men had to clean the fish and do the dishes. While the ladies partied late into the night...
