cape canaveral surf report
Monday: Small to flat in most spots. Gentle offshore winds picking up for the afternoon. It’s a perfect day for a little beach fishing but keep an eye on the weather forecast because we have a few storms rolling through.
cape canaveral surf forecast
Tuesday: We have strong North winds and wind swell to start the day which will be dropping off by the afternoon. There may be a few leftovers after the winds die down for breaks that can handle a North swell but keep your expectations tempered.
Looking ahead: Surf will drop off for Wednesday and Thursday. We have another front passing over on Friday that will be kicking off another round of wind swell for the weekend.
Next week is looking promising in some of the long range models so stay tuned.

cape canaveral surf break information
Family friendly Jetty Park is located at the end of George King Blvd in Cape Canaveral at
400 East Jetty Road Cape Canaveral, FL 32920. With 35 acres of Beaches, Camp Grounds, pavilions with grills, playgrounds, ample parking and a 1200 foot long fishing pier there are multiple activities for the whole family!
The Jetty Park break is a gently sloping sand bar which is fed by the wide beach that is created by the Jetty blocking the northerly flow of sand. This makes the beach ideal for beginners as well as body boarders looking to hone their skills. The water is also shallower than other locations down the Space Coast due to the extra sand and gentle slope to the beach. It is a little bit reminiscent of Gulf Coast beaches like Siesta Key. There are also beach rentals available for everything from chairs to boogie boards.
For the little guys the shallow water and year round lifeguards make it a great place to safely enjoy the beach. A little bonus to mention is that Jetty Park boasts a finer sand consistency than nearby beaches making it an ideal place to build sand castles and sculptures. While visiting, be sure to take a stroll out onto the Jetty. The Jetty is not only a great place to fish and watch for sea turtles grazing on the rocks but it also allows for an amazing view of rocket launches from Cape Canaveral.
At the time of writing (5-6-22) the food court was currently unavailable but the grills at the pavilions are great for making the family a BBQ lunch. Be advised that the Pavilions can be reserved but are otherwise first come, first serve, and grilling is not allowed on the beach if you bring your own. If you reserve a Pavilion it includes entrance for one vehicle so if you are bring the family and want to guarantee a grill this might not be a bad option. My family and I usually pack a small lunch to eat on the beach (just be ready for the seagulls) and then we take advantage of the multiple dining opportunities at the nearby Port on the way home for dinner.
The Port has several restaurants including Gator’s Dockside, Fishlips, Grills and Rising Tide. I’m a bit partial to Rusty’s with their open deck views and their 3-6 pm happy hour that usually lines up with the time we are leaving the beach. They have some of the freshest seafood and some of best chicken wings in Florida.
Jetty Park does require a fee for entrance. We recommend getting the year pass because it is a good deal if you are planning to visit more than once. Be sure to head to the Jetty Park Pass page and have your pass ready because at the time of writing they were not accepting payment at the entrance. You will have to pull to the side and purchase your pass online using your phone and re-enter. Admission Tickets – Port Canaveral
If you want to skip the crowds, parking and driving I recommend checking out the Holiday Inn Beach Resort located near the entrance to Jetty Park. If it's a weekend getaway or full vacation you can enjoy Jetty Park by simply strolling to the beach from your room. With a Game room, movie theater, mini golf, a large pool, lazy river, hot tub, water slide, signature dining and more this resort makes for a true get away to paradise. Be advised that Jetty Park can hit capacity on Weekends, Holidays and During Rocket Launches so plan to be there early on those days.
